In keeping with our mission, the spiritual life of the students and staff at Saxony Lutheran High School is a top priority. Daily exploration of the Bible and its lessons are studied together as we begin our day centered on Christ.
Service Hours
According to James 2:26, "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead." In keeping with this belief, Saxony Lutheran High School has implemented, as part of the graduation requirement, sixty hours of service to be performed by students during their high school career. Split up by year in high school, ten hours of service freshmen and sophomore year are recommended with the junior and senior year of twenty hours of service.
To submit a student's service hour(s), fill out the long or short form and turn into the student's religion teacher.
In March, Saxony began a program titled Showing Love in His Service (SLHS). The purpose of this program is to recognize the many Christian actions and attitudes shown throughout Saxony. At the end of the month, students who have been recognized by their teachers as SLHS will receive a special breakfast. They were nominated for a variety of reasons that may including: helping fellow students who are having trouble in class, volunteering to help teachers/custodians after school, being inclusive of all students and helping students who have dropped or spilled things in the hallway.
