Extracurricular Activities
FFA
The National FFA Organization (Future Farmers of America) is an organization that helps young people develop career, leadership and life skills through agricultural education.
Student Council
Our student council meets periodically to discuss various student issues, concerns, and to plan student activities such as dances and movie nights.
Scholar Bowl
The Scholar Bowl team, also a member of MSHSAA, competes against other schools with questions that include information from all core subject areas.
Drama
Drama is open to all students. Drama produces one event each semester and an upperclassmen showcase during the winter.
Music
Students can enjoy and grow in their musical talent by enrolling in our choir or band, which are classes during the school day. Both groups have numerous concerts and events throughout the year and are MSHSAA contest participants.
Esports Club
The high school esports club is a group of students who come together to play and compete in video games. While the club takes the competition seriously, the main goal is to have fun with friends and enjoy playing the games. The club members often bond over their shared love of gaming and develop teamwork and communication skills through their gameplay.
Drama Ministry
Drama Ministry gives students the opportunities and tools to use their God-given talents to spread the message of Christ through acting.
Small Group Ministry
SGM opportunities exist as roles of group leader or facilitator for students interested in leading devotions, prayer, and fellowship activities with their group.
National Honor Society
Saxony’s chapter of the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students.
Spanish Club
Spanish Club meets for fun cultural activities throughout the year. Speaking Spanish is encouraged, but students at any level of Spanish are welcome to participate. Activities have included attending St. Louis’s Hispanic Festival, eating out at Mexican restaurant, salsa dancing, a cooking lesson, a craft event, and a Spanish-language movie fiesta.
Pep Club
Pep Club is made up of any Saxony students who want to be involved in supporting Saxony sports teams in a more organized way. Students make spirit signs and decorations/themes for games, host a bonfire, lead cheers, encourage participation at sporting events, and much more. Meetings are held periodically throughout the school year.
FCA
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is dedicated to enhancing the opportunities for athletes to express their Christian faith in their sports, their school, their families, and their lives. Their Christian leadership skills will be encouraged and Christian obedience will be promoted.
Art Club
Art Club brings together all students who enjoy art, even those who are not enrolled in an art class, and travel to see artworks. We interact with the Saxony through sponsored activities to bring art into the community through pumpkin carving contests, community murals, fundraising and face painting.
Beta Club
Beta Club is a service club that recognizes high academic achievement while providing students opportunities to be servant leaders for Saxony and the surrounding community. A student needs to maintain a 3.5 GPA to be a member of Beta Club. He or she also needs to participate in club meetings and various service projects throughout the year.
Bowling Club
The bowling club is a team of students who share a passion for bowling. They participate in local competitions where they compete against other high school bowling teams. The club members practice regularly to improve their skills and techniques in the sport. Through their participation in competitions, they get to showcase their abilities and represent their school.
